OPA STUDENT CUP MARCH 2012
Each year, the Ontario Pharmacists Association sponsors a hockey game between the two pharmacy school programs in Ontario: the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy. The two schools alternate hosting the event, and the University of Waterloo hosted this year’s game. The goal of the event is to foster camaraderie, connection and a little friendly competition between the schools while also instilling school spirit. It gives both faculty and students a chance to have some fun during the busy school terms.
The game this year was held at the Waterloo Recreation Complex and was a great success. The festivities included a pre-game gathering at a local pub, the hockey game, and a post-game celebration for both teams. Events during the game included a puck toss and a faculty-member shoot-out during intermissions. Though a tight game, the University of Waterloo proudly hoisted the cup.
